The News Network Project is a Trans-Tasman network of visual artists established in response to the spectre of Global Media. The group contributes to contemporary debate around current events and conflicts by exploring their representation in contemporary fine art. We present exhibitions, artist talks, papers, and workshops related to the group's productive dynamics and developed during residencies. Works are made in a series of residencies in Auckland and Dunedin in New Zealand, and in Melbourne and Canberra, Australia. The News Network Project fosters the development of an on-going international trans-Tasman artist collaboration and community.
